Firefighters Respond To Four-Alarm Warehouse Blaze in MontCo: Authorities

Fire crews responded to a four-alarm fire at a warehouse in Montgomery County at 12:54 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, according to authorities.

The blaze was reported at the Dorman Products warehouse located at 3400 Walnut Street in Colmar, the Hatfield Police Department explained in a release on Tuesday night. 

The Colmar Volunteer Fire Company was initially dispatched to the scene with the Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company following a few minutes behind. 

Fire crews reported that good progress was being made on the fire at 1:29 p.m., information provided by dispatch states.

A mayday was declared and what was described as a "heavy fire" went to four alarms at 1:44 p.m., according to the dispatch information.

By the fourth alarm, almost 30 fire departments and emergency personnel from Montgomery and Bucks counties were involved, including the county hazardous materials team, according to officials. 

Walnut Street was closed between County Line Road and Discovery Drive, and motorists were advised to avoid the area, according to the police. The area reopened at 6:21 p.m.

All employees were evacuated safely from the building, by 2:15 p.m., according to the police. Crews requested to begin opening the garage doors of the building to start ventilation at around 2 p.m.

No injuries were reported, police confirmed in an updated release after 6 p.m.
